Labradoodle

The Labradoodle is increasingly becoming America's favorite household breed, due to their excellent and gentle personalities; perfect for growing families! Known as a Designer Breed, the Labradoodle is the result of the Labrador Retriever bloodlines being crossed with the Poodle bloodlines. Please note that all designer breeds are not always 50%, 50% of each breed. For example the parents can be a Labradoodle for a father and a Poodle as a mother making the liter of pups primarily Poodle and having them grow to be different than the general description given for appearance, temperament and care. As always with designer breeds, it is also important to note that their health and care requirements will be per individual dog and may or may not apply to your puppy.

The height and weight will vary per individual dog based on their generation type; if they are 50% Poodle and 50% Labrador Retriever or different. In general, this is a medium to large breed in size, with both males and females measuring 21-24 inches in height and weighing an average of 35-55 pounds in weight. This breed always should have pendant shaped ears that hang gently alongside their face. Their shape of head will vary per individual based on their parents. Their coat can range from tight and curly, to long and wavy. Labradoodle's are available in brown, black, cream and tan.

It is important to note that due to being a Designer Breed, every single Labradoodle will be an individual; however we are able to give you a general description of the breed temperament and what to generally expect of this breed. There is no doubt that this breed is loving, friendly, happy and energetic, in fact, this is why they are the perfect candidates for so many families in the United States! This breed is easy to train, and social. As always, we recommend early socialization and obedience classes with your new dog to teach both the new owner and puppy how to properly react in situations and make a solid base to your new relationship. This breed should have a properly fenced in yard to run and play freely and safely within. This breed requires a daily walk as well as other play time. Generally excellent with other canines and pets within the home. Positive reinforcement training methods only.

This breed sheds little to none, assuming you are adding a F1 to your family (50% Poodle and 50% Labrador Retriever), requires daily brushing and bathing when needed. We recommended regular trips to a professional groomers to maintain proper hair care for your dog. Please note that per individual dog, their hair will vary from tight and curly to long and wavy.

Each and every Designer Breed dog will be different individually, but they all should have a generalization of what to be, and that is what we are providing for you. Please fully education yourself about the Labrador Retriever, Poodle and Labradoodle prior to adding a Labradoodle to your household to ensure you understand their health, care requirements and needs. Do not add a new dog to your home unless you are able to provide life long physical and financial care to your new pet. We recommend a properly fenced in area for your new dog or to be outdoors with a properly fitting harness and leash at all times. All dogs originate from wolves (Canis Lupus). Each breed of dog was originally created by mixing different breeds together in an effort to bring forth certain characteristics. Once a breeder has created acceptable “breed characteristics” within their bloodline and these “breed characteristics” have shown to be reliably reproduced in the offspring for three (3) generations, the bloodline may be upgraded from the category of “foundation stock” to “pure-bred”. The same “pure-bred” breed standards vary from different continents, countries, territories, regions, breed clubs, and canine pure-breed registries depending on the goals of their breeders. Dog DNA testing companies can have accurate results for a specific bloodline of a small colony of dogs. However, there are tens of thousands of different bloodlines in the world which have not yet been tested for marker baseline results by Dog DNA testing companies as of 2017. For this reason Dog DNA testing companies do not guarantee the 100% accuracy of their breed lineage results and will also show different marker results for the same pure-bred breed in different continents, countries, territories, regions, breed clubs, and canine pure-breed registries depending on the goals of their breeders.
